Brian C. Smith
President
Born into the legacy of Eastern Excavating and Grading, Brian C. Smith has been immersed in construction and site development since childhood. The son of Glenn P. Smith, Brian assumed leadership of the Odenton-based family business and transformed it into a thriving enterprise within a single generation. With over 40 years of experience, he has developed mastery across aggregates, heavy hauling, excavation, concrete, and snow removal. His vision and dedication laid the foundation for Eastern General Contracting.
Thad Turpin
Vice President

His ability to operate heavy equipment in the field, combined with his proficiency in reading plans, estimating, and project leadership, enables him to deliver projects with precision and efficiency. Thad is known for his problem-solving skills, ability to navigate complex jobsite challenges, and his leadership of crews across multiple sites.
Shawn Robinson
Director of Project Management
shawn@easterngc.netWith over 30 years of industry experience, Shawn Robinson is recognized as a leader in project management. He has worked with several prominent brands in the convenience store, hospitality, and restaurant industries. His clients in the convenience store sector include Sheetz, Dash In, and Wawa, where he has managed new store construction, scrape-and-rebuild projects, and remodels.
Another key client is Splash In Car Wash, where Shawn has extensive experience overseeing in-bay, tunnel, and touch-free car wash construction projects.
In the restaurant industry, Shawn has worked with brands such as McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Arby’s, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and KFC, managing both new builds and renovations. Additional clients include Applebee’s, Dunkin’, Red Lobster, and Dollar General. Shawn’s proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget has earned him a reputation for excellence. He sets the gold standard for client trust, overseeing teams with a process-driven approach that ensures consistency, quality, and reliability from concept through completion.
